My practice is grounded in a multicultural, liberatory, and decolonizing approach. This means that I consider the systems of oppression in people's lives. I tend not to see “symptoms” as personal pathology, but as a person's creative way of adapting to stress, trauma and oppressive life circumstances. My stance is non-judgmental and respectful of people’s lived experiences.
My work rests upon a deep respect for children. Blending my special education background with my training in attachment and psychodynamic theories, I am able to offer evidence-based therapies (CBT, behavioral interventions, DBT, Parent-Child Psychotherapy) while also providing a unique understanding of a child’s developmental struggles, themes and conflicts.
I offer psychoeducational evaluations for the differential diagnosis of ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities. My extensive testing experience includes working on the Assessment Team at Rutgers University, completing a Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Assessment rotation at the Jacobi Medical Center and working as a child study team psychologist for seven years. I have worked in elementary, middle and high school settings and am uniquely positioned to help families navigate the school setting and K-12 special education.
