My practice is grounded in a multicultural, liberatory, and decolonizing approach. This means that I consider the systems of oppression in people's lives. I tend not to see “symptoms” as personal pathology, but as a person's creative way of adapting to stress, trauma and oppressive life circumstances. My stance is non-judgmental and respectful of people’s lived experiences.
In my work with adults, I draw upon psychoanalysis, existential therapies and internal family systems. I help clients to integrate split-off experiences of trauma, loss or shame into a coherent life narrative.
It is within the context of a safe relationship and space that one can begin to weave experiences together and find a core part of oneself that is peaceful, wise and empowered.
